How to Prepare Your Trampoline for Winter – Store It or Secure It

Buba trampolines are made for outdoor use, but rain, snow and damp in winter wear the parts out faster. That is why we recommend putting the trampoline away for the winter – this way the frame and springs are protected from corrosion and rust for much longer. If that is not possible, secure and cover the trampoline following the steps below.
The best option: put the trampoline away
- Clean and dry it. Remove leaves and dirt, wash the mat with water and mild soap if needed, and let everything dry completely.
- Take the trampoline apart. Remove the net and poles, the ladder, the spring cover, the springs and the mat.
- Store everything somewhere dry. Keep the parts in a garage, basement or another dry room. Keep the springs in a box so none get lost.
If the trampoline stays outside
- Clean the trampoline. Remove leaves, twigs and dirt from the mat.
- Remove the net, the poles and the ladder. Store them somewhere dry – this way the net will not fade and snow and wind will not strain it.
- Cover it with a weather cover. The weather cover is fitted only after the net and poles have been removed – it covers the whole trampoline and protects the mat and springs from damp, rust and snow. Choose a model for the size of your trampoline – for example 244 cm for 8FT or 305 cm for 10FT.
- Secure the trampoline. Strong winds are common in winter – anchor the frame to the ground.
- Do not jump on snow and ice. Carefully remove a thicker layer of snow from the weather cover with a soft brush so it does not strain the mat and springs.
Check before spring
Before the first jump, inspect the net, the mat, the springs and the spring cover. Replace any torn, rusty or faded parts – read how to choose the right part in our blog article about spare parts.
